Animal Law Training


SOFA conducted the second animal law training in Zimbabwe on the 28th of May up to 1st of June 2018. The training was facilitated by Advocate E.V Chinoda who is the Executive Director of SOFA. This training was attended by ten trainees who showed their passion and interest in animal law as highlighted by their levels of participation and enthusiasm in wanting to know more about the subject. During this training the trainees were acquainted with a multiplicity issues on animal law. The trainees comprised of national prosecutors, law graduates, legal personnel from the Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and law students from SOFA student chapters at University of Zimbabwe and Great Zimbabwe law schools.

The second animal law training was also graced by guest presenters from the Judicial Service Commission, the Veterinary Services Department and Non-Governmental Organisations that deal with environmental law issues. SOFA conducts the legal awareness trainings in light of its mission to influence the human mindset and inspire behaviour change towards animal protection and preservation laws. After the successful completion of the training, the trainees were endowed with certificates in animal law. Speak Out For Animals will also conduct the third animal law training in 2019 and as soon as the dates are available, we will publish them.
